On Sunday, two young girls jumped to their deaths in Moscow. It warranted a few lines on Telegram, a couple of “interest” stories on local news sites. It barely registered in the public consciousness. Both were 14 years old. One was a classmate of Tim since last September. Both were good students, had no issues in school and had lots of friends. Tim’s classmate, Sonia, was the 2nd to jump. I spoke with her just once, in September. She was a nice kid, big smile, polite, respectful. She was on a course of “calming” tablets, yet outwardly she was a normal, healthy, happy young girl who leaves behind a devastated Mother and terrified classmates.
I spoke a little with Tim last evening and more today. The school, brilliantly, organised a psychologist to come speak with the kids today, only Tim and 1 other boy showed. All but 1 of the girls in the class came in. One parent messaged me and said - “Why should my child have to go in on a holiday, when it was that stupid girl’s Mother guilty.” Woman’s inhumanity to her fellow woman. When I spoke with Tim, I mentally went back to my first, official, experience of such an event when one of my kids (students) took her own life in August 2018. I was on a work holiday in Budapest when my deputy called with the news and I didn’t know what to say. When, back in Moscow, I organised a minute’s silence at our 1st of September “line up”, I was battered down by the Dean of Psychology who said - “You popularise this and more will follow. It’s the girl’s Mother to blame.” Woman’s inhumanity to her fellow woman. We didn’t have the minute’s silence, within a year 2 more kids took their own lives. I still regret giving in to that ignorant bufoon to this day.
Often on Capital Sports I’d finish a show with - take care of the kids, shelter them a little. I’ve tried as an adult to always be aware of this and in my last Uni (MISIS), I made sure that ALL students were catered for and had someone to go to. Because more and more I see the pressure piling on kids and as it stands Russia is already top 5 for suicide in the world. Which boils my blood every time I read or hear sneering shitheads say “Don’t stand close to the window” or “He’ll fall out a window soon.” Cheap jokes at the expense of what? A real issue in Russia where jumping from a balcony is the easiest way to end it all. But of course, Russians don’t matter, according to what I read in the BBC and RTE and other outlets that (annoyingly) I go to for news.
Joe Biden lands in Ukraine, with the permission of Russia. His National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan not only gave Moscow a heads up, he asked if it was ok. Air raid sirens go off (across Ukraine) and Biden and Zelensky walk calmly around the city. Children hide in the metro tunnels, in basements, in bomb shelters, while the “Big Guy” goes for a stroll with Whiny McCokehead in sunny Kiev. Sure, what’s another scare for the kids, they’ve already had lots as it is. East Palestine, Ohio burns and is destroyed with a toxic chemcial spill, neither Biden nor his Transport Secretary Maltese Pete go to the site. No money or votes in that. And if it was only the US, we’d at least have a laugh at their expense, instead of crying at the clowns ruling us.
Last weekend in Munich Usrula von der Leyen, from Nazi and slave owning stock, told that the EU and America were preparing for war in 2021. Annalena Baerbock wanted Vladimir Putin to do a 360 turn. George Soros wanted “regime change” in India. And on, and on. Kamala Harris lambasted Russia, yet the reaction in Europe was one of - wait, whatabout…….and on and on. I watched the Munich Security Conference in shock at how few actual, intelligent, human adults were on display. After 3 days of this hatefilled insanity, the world was even less secure.
And today VVP gave a nearly 2 hour speech about how the truth will out and Russia will win and this will be done and that will be done. I compared it with Joe Biden’s State of the Union and it was better, in scripting and delivery, but it was more of the same. Nothing to actually calm things down and begin dialogue. Our kids have suffered through the world ending in a ball of flame and melting ice through Greta, then a pandemic, then war and nuclear war. The adults in the room need to step up and be counted. I see nobody, apart from notable figures like Mick Wallace and Claire Daly, calling for peace. Wait, I’m lying, I do. I see China, India, Brazil, South Africa, Pakistan, Mongolia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, the UAE. I see people of colour, looking at America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, with large parts of Europe pouring death into Ukraine, and saying - stop. Talk. Enough is enough. All lives matter. The adults in the adults in the room are coming from outside “the west” and if we begin to listen to them, we will start making our kids lives easier and actually saving lives. That’s if we value our kid’s lives at all.
Unfortunately children are given many substances by psychiatrist and nurses to calm them down and stop their free will and spirited out lock administering pills like Ritalin can cause damage and also the brain I’m not saying this has happened with these children but I know from a friend who was worried about their daughter but she was put on medication It’s ridiculous children need to grow at their own pace and in their own time and not be giving pills pills pills that can lead to long-term injuries the days of a free spirited child seem to be over and suppressed I would tell parents to let the children grow and have their free spirit
